Ayla's Sanctuary engulfed in flames January 26

Sadly our animal sanctuary was struck again by another disaster. At midnight on January 26, 2025 a fire engulfed our caretaker's home. In September, the sanctuary was hit by Hurricane Helene, we were/are still in the process of rebuilding the barns and outbuildings after a direct hit.
A huge thank you to everyone that is rallying to show their support during this devastating time. We are working to get organized in the wake of the fire and place animals into foster or permanent care. Anyone willing to foster a dog or cat, please visit and fill out a foster application so we can connect with you as soon as we are able to do so. Anyone who is able to foster or provide permanent homes for our farm animals, please send an email to [email protected] and we will be in touch asap. Again, thank you to everyone for all their love and support during this time.

More about the fire may be found on our Sanctuary page.  To follow updates follow us on Facebook or Instagram

AYLA'S ACRES ANIMAL RESOURCE CENTER ONE STEP CLOSER TO REALITY
Big news! Ayla's Acres Animal Resource Center (formerly Peter's Friends) will break ground, soon. St. Johns County approved a special use permit for the adoption center and veterinary clinic. We are waiting for the final permits and then we can start to build! The engineering is completed, site plans are ready, soil samples have been gathered, and the archaeological investigation is done.
Our new Animal Resource Center will provide a warm, non-institutional, clean, safe, loving environment for adoptable dogs and cats until they find their forever homes. This includes shelter, food, and interaction between people and the animals. It will also provide an onsite veterinary clinic with no- or low-cost spay/neuter and vaccination programs. Read more about our new shelter including it's location, visit our Animal Resource Center page.

We rely on the kindness of our community - Get involved today!
