Fire Destroys Our Animal Sanctuary

We need your help. On December 19, 2019, a fire started at the house on animal sanctuary property in Greenville, FL. Our sanctuary is a 45-acre farm and home to 140 injured, disabled and un-adoptable animals in which Ayla's Acres No-Kill Animal Rescue cares for. We have two full-time property managers and animal caretakers, Nedra and Chuck, that lived in the house where the fire started. We lost 11 animals in the fire, three animals are still missing. Chuck and Nedra suffered minor injuries. The house was destroyed.

About Us

Ayla’s Acres No-Kill Animal Rescue, Inc., is a St. Augustine-based 501(c)(3) supporting adoption, spay and neuter, and responsible care of animals. Along with education, outreach, adoption, and fostering programs, Ayla’s Acres maintains a 45-acre sanctuary where “unadoptable” animals may live out their lives with peace, love, and dignity. We have launched a $2.6 million capital campaign to raise funds to build Peter’s Friends Animal Resource Center in St. Johns County. Ayla’s Acres receives no government funding, relying instead on private donations of money, supplies, and items that are sold through Ayla’s Acres Thrift Shop, located in downtown St. Augustine, at 142 King Street. Our annual gala, community support, grants, and annual holiday fundraising provides funds for our cause.

Finally, if you would like to make a financial donation to Ayla's Acres, please go to the "Donate" button at the bottom of this page. We very much appreciate your support...and so do the animals! If you prefer to donate by check, please make payable to
